Redmi Note 9 Pro was launched at a starting price of Rs 12,999 in India in March 2020. However, the price was later increased by Rs 1000 to 13,999 by the smartphone maker. Redmi has now launched a 4 GB RAM + 128 GB internal storage variant of the smartphone at a price of Rs 15,999. The top of the line 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage is priced at Rs 16,999 in India. The smartphone is available for purchase on e-commerce vendor Amazon and Mi.com. The phone is available in Glacier White, Aurora Blue, and Interstellar Black colours.
Redmi is rolling out a new software update for the Redmi Note 9 Pro 128 GB smartphone in India. The latest update brings the June 2020 Android security patch to the smartphone, and brings a few optimisations and security enhancements. The new update is dated Android 10 OS with the former MIUI 11 custom skin on top. The changelog mentions that the update will bring overall system stability with several optimisations to reduce system lag. The update is being rolled out OTA and users can also check for the MIUI 11 update in their phone’s Settings section > About phone > System update.
Design
The Redmi Note 9 Pro 128 GB is available in Glacier White, Aurora Blue, and Interstellar Black colours. The phone has a 6.67-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution and has an 84.5% screen-to-body ratio. The device has a 20:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. It measures 165.7 x 76.6 x 8.8 mm and weighs 209 grams. The Chinese device maker has added a distinctive new camera bump design which is in theme with the new ‘Aura Balance' design. The flash is centred below the four rear camera lenses. The front and back of the phone will be made using Gorilla Glass 5.

The phone has a quad rear camera setup which includes a 48 MP Samsung ISOCELL GM2 primary sensor with a six-piece f/1.79 lens. It has an 8 MP secondary sensor with a 120-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, a third 5 MP sensor with a macro lens, and a fourth 2 MP sensor for depth sensing. It has a 16 MP selfie camera sensor and supports artificial intelligence (AI) based features.
Performance
Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor paired with Adreno 618 GPU and up to 6 GB of RAM. the dual-SIM (Nano) Redmi Note 9 Pro smartphone runs Android 10 with the company’s proprietary MIUI 11 on top.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro comes with up to 128 GB of UFS 2.1 storage that is expandable via microSD card up to 512 GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. The phone packs a 5,020 mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.

The phone is available for purchase through Mi.com, Amazon, Mi Home stores, and Mi Studio stores, as well as via major retail outlets in India.
